Dr. Steven Smullin, DMD, MD is a board-certified, dual-degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon, having obtained both a dental and medical degree in his training.Dr. Smullin obtained his specialty training and certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2007 at Harvard Universitys Massachusetts General Hospital. During this time, he also obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 2004. This rigorous and highly selective six-year dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgery program afforded him the opportunity train with world renowned experts in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, medicine and craniofacial surgery. His training included rotations at prestigious institutions such as Boston Childrens Hospital and Brigham and Womens Hospital. He previously obtained his dental degree from Temple University in 2001 where he was valedictorian of his class.Immediately following his training, he started an oral and maxillofacial surgery service as a section of the Department of Otolaryngology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA, where he practiced full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery for 4 years. He performed many advanced jaw reconstructive surgeries at his tenure in this hospital.In private practice, Dr. Smullin enjoys the breadth of the field and has a special interest in treating children. He enjoys both what may be considered simple procedures as well as advanced dental reconstruction of the jaws with dental implants and advanced grafting procedures.We were pleased to welcome Dr. Smullin to our team at Northern Westchester Oral Surgery in early 2018. In addition to practicing in Westchester County, Dr. Smullin continues to practice oral and maxillofacial surgery in Fairfield County, CT since 2011 and he is a staff physician at Greenwich Hospital, CT. Dr. Smullin lives in Stamford, CT and simply enjoys spending time with his family which includes his wonderful wife and 2 beautiful children.
